Beyond Talent are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice in Retford, who are looking to welcome a Junior Tax Assistant to their friendly and supportive team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, dependent on experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in taxation and gain valuable experience within a professional accountancy practice. You will work alongside an experienced team, receiving training and guidance while developing your knowledge of tax compliance and working with a varied portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
- Support the preparation of P11D returns relating to employee benefits and expenses.
- Help with tax compliance work for a range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Respond to basic client queries and assist with HMRC correspondence.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure information is processed correctly.
- Support the wider team with general tax administration and meet key filing deadlines.
- Develop your understanding of tax legislation, compliance and best practice through on-the-job training.
Profile & Requirements
- An interest in pursuing a career in taxation or accountancy.
- Previous experience within an office, finance or accountancy environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
