Beyond Talent Solutions is supporting a not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Manager for an initial 6-month fixed term contract.
Covering a period of leave, this role isn’t simply about keeping things ticking over. The organisation is looking for someone who can quickly get to grips with the finances, provide robust financial management and give the Director greater visibility around cash flow, forecasting and future funding.
The role
Reporting directly to the Director and overseeing an Accounts Assistant, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function while also supporting some important pieces of work across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing clear oversight of cash flow, budgets and financial forecasts
- Supporting the Director with financial planning and decision-making
- Preparing financial information and forecasts to support funding and grant applications
- Monitoring existing funding and helping ensure appropriate financial reporting
- Producing and reviewing management accounts and providing meaningful commentary
- Managing budgeting and reforecasting activity
- Maintaining strong financial controls and processes
- Overseeing and supporting the Accounts Assistant
- Working closely with the Director to provide a clear picture of current and future financial performance
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen financial reporting, controls and processes during the contract
About you
We’re looking for someone who can step into an organisation, understand what is happening quickly and provide a calm, experienced pair of hands.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar hands-on role
- Strong cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting experience
- The ability to translate financial information into clear, useful insight for non-finance stakeholders
- Experience supporting funding or grant applications would be particularly useful
- Strong management accounting and financial control experience
- A practical, hands-on approach and confidence working closely with senior leadership
- Previous not-for-profit, charity or grant-funded organisation experience would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
