We’re working with a well‑established business in Rotherham that’s looking to bring an Assistant Accountant into their growing finance team. The Role
You’ll support the Finance Manager and wider team in keeping everything running smoothly day‑to‑day, while also getting involved in the bigger picture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with monthly management accounts preparation
- Posting journals including accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting month‑end and year‑end processes
- Managing elements of purchase ledger and supplier payments
- Assisting with VAT returns and compliance tasks
- Producing reports and supporting financial analysis
- Identifying and improving existing processes
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant / Accounts Assistant role preferred, but will consider graduates
- Strong understanding of core finance processes (journals, reconciliations, month‑end)
- Accounting or related degree preferred
- Good Excel skills
- Someone organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a busy environment
