We are looking for a sharp, proactive Finance Analyst to partner with our Finance Director and senior leadership team, ensuring our financial health and commercial strategy are as high-performance as the products we build.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Planning & Reporting: Lead the budgeting, monthly forecasting, and Long-Term Planning (MRP) processes. Own the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring total accuracy in the accounting of revenue, COGS and product development capitalisation.
- Strategic Commentary: Deliver high-impact month-end analysis and presentation decks for Sony, highlighting key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Commercial Modelling: Develop robust financial models and business cases to evaluate new product investments, business bids, and customer contract renewals.
- Business Partnering: Act as a key advisor to Project Managers and department heads (Marketing, IT, HR) to manage overheads, review client delivery variances, and assess impact on annual projections.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead monthly revenue sessions with senior management and represent the P&L in meetings with the Sony CFO, confidently addressing challenges and queries.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Support the Finance Director with deep-dive analysis on headcount, resource utilization, and the impact of shifting market variables.
- Professional Qualification: Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Core FP&A Competence: Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and month-end management reporting within a commercial environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel capability (complex modeling and data manipulation).
- Strong analytical skills: with a focus on variance analysis and KPIs.
- Experience: with intercompany recharges and accrual management.
- Operational Awareness: Ability to navigate P&L variances and revenue recognition (contracted vs. intent revenue).
- Commercial Curiosity: A natural desire to look 'beyond the numbers' to understand the operational drivers of the business.
- Communication Excellence: The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, persuasive narratives for non-financial stakeholders.
