Who we are: Beyond Retail is an award-winning multi-website online retailer offering bathroom, kitchen and heating products to Britain’s homeowners and tradespeople. Over 8 million people visit our websites each year, and we’re on a mission to help create well-designed homes that look great, feel special, and positively impact people's everyday lives. We’re 15 years old now, and in that time we’ve accelerated from zero to £50m/year revenue, won local and national awards, and grown to 150-plus people. Our three websites - Drench, Tap Warehouse and Toasty - are growing from strength to strength, and we’re looking for a New Product Ecommerce Merchandiser to help drive our next chapter of growth.
Our New Product Ecommerce Merchandiser will be responsible for bringing new bathroom, kitchen and heating products to life across our three ecommerce sites. You’ll manage products through the ecommerce launch process, from receiving the initial product data through to creating complete, accurate and customer-friendly listings. This includes categorisation, product attributes and filters, imagery, essential extras, upsells and cross-sells. You’ll also help us improve how we launch products by identifying missing information, resolving issues and suggesting practical improvements to our processes. It’s a hands-on role where the quality and accuracy of your work will directly influence how easily customers can discover, understand and buy our products. You’ll be measured on the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of product launches, alongside the quality of product listings once they are live across our websites.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing new products through the ecommerce launch process across Drench, Tap Warehouse and Toasty, taking them from raw product data to complete, accurate and customer-friendly listings.
- Creating accurate, data-rich product listings, including categorisation, product attributes, tags and filters.
- Linking relevant upsells, cross-sells and essential extras to help customers find everything they need and complete their purchase.
- Editing, cropping and formatting product images to meet our brand standards, ensuring visual assets are clear, engaging and accurate before launch.
- Carrying out post-launch quality checks to make sure products appear correctly in internal search results, relevant filter combinations and category listings.
- Using the New Product Introduction workflow to identify missing information, recommend new filters and attributes, and improve existing product data to support customer navigation.
- Identifying gaps, bottlenecks and opportunities to improve the launch process, working with the New Product Lead to implement practical improvements.
- Working closely with the Merchandising, Buying and Marketing teams to align product launches with stock availability, trading priorities and promotional campaigns.
- Supporting general site maintenance, category briefs, promotional setups and ongoing product updates during peak trading periods or quieter launch cycles.
The skills and experience you’ll need:
- Experience working in an ecommerce merchandising, product-data or similar role.
- Around two years’ experience would be desirable, but it is not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and a clear understanding of the importance of accurate product information.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Digital confidence and the ability to learn new platforms and tools quickly.
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Initiative, ambition and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence using Google Sheets or Excel beyond a basic level, including formulas such as VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP.
- Logical thinking and strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to speak up, share ideas and suggest improvements.
- A positive outlook and strong can-do attitude.
- An understanding of how product presentation and merchandising influence customer behaviour and sales would be desirable.
- Previous experience using an ecommerce platform, PIM system or analytics platform would be advantageous, but is not essential.
What we can offer you:
- Flexible working hours. We work 40 hours per week, with flexibility to start and finish between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
- A one-off allowance of £500 to help you set up your home office.
- All the technology you need to do your job.
- Generous annual leave, with additional days for length of service.
- A company-wide commitment to learning and development.
- A friendly, customer-focused environment built on teamwork, collaboration, ownership and transparency.
- Team and company-wide social events.
- No corporate dress code.
