The Role

At Beyond Nine, we’re on an exciting journey of growth and transformation. We’re seeking a strategic, driven, and collaborative Head of Growth to lead our marketing and acquisition efforts at a pivotal stage in our development. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a senior role in shaping the company’s growth strategy, driving both brand and performance marketing initiatives across all channels. Working closely with the Head of PR, Head of Creative, and Product teams, you will oversee the marketing calendar, lead acquisition campaigns, optimise the e‑commerce experience, and manage the broader customer journey. This is a hands‑on senior leadership role for a candidate who thrives in a fast‑paced, evolving scale‑up environment and is passionate about delivering measurable business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Overall Marketing Strategy
    • Develop and lead the overarching marketing strategy, aligning brand and performance goals to drive sustainable growth.
    • Own the marketing calendar across all channels, working with the Founder, PR, and Product teams to plan campaigns, launches, and product initiatives.
    • Define and manage budgets, KPIs, and reporting across all growth marketing channels.
    • Contribute to wider business strategy, identifying opportunities and risks, and provide key support to the Founder/CEO.
  • E‑commerce & Website Performance
    • Oversee the Shopify e‑commerce experience, ensuring optimisation for conversion, SEO, and storytelling.
    • Manage the end‑to‑end digital customer journey, testing and refining to improve performance.
    • Collaborate with merchandising, design, and development teams to ensure product launches and website updates are timely and impactful.
    • Lead continuous CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) initiatives across the site.
    • Expand the international D2C experience, and optimise to maximise growth and margin.
  • Paid Media & Acquisition
    • Lead all paid acquisition campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging channels, driving ROAS and new customer growth.
    • Oversee agency and in‑house paid media resources, ensuring clear briefs, campaign structure, creative testing, and regular optimisation.
    • Grow and optimise affiliate and influencer partnerships.
    • Analyse data to identify new audience segments and growth opportunities.
  • Customer Experience & CRM
    • Own the customer lifecycle, from welcome journeys to loyalty and reactivation, across email, SMS, and web.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase LTV and customer retention rates over time.
    • Manage and evolve the CRM strategy (Klaviyo), including segmentation, automation, and personalised content strategies.
    • Lead referral programmes and other customer engagement initiatives.
    • Oversee customer support (via Gorgias) to deliver a best‑in‑class, on‑brand experience.
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire the growth marketing team (internal and freelance), fostering creativity, curiosity, and accountability.
    • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Merch, Creative, and PR to ensure consistent messaging and impactful campaigns.
    • Partner with external freelancers and agencies to deliver high‑quality work efficiently.

Key Metrics of Success

  • Growth in new customer acquisition and retention across paid media, affiliate, and CRM channels.
  • Achievement of agreed ROAS, CPA, CLTV, and other channel performance targets.
  • Optimised e‑commerce experience, with measurable improvements in conversion rate and revenue per visitor.
  • Effective budget management and demonstrable efficiencies in spend allocation.
  • High‑performing marketing campaigns that consistently drive engagement, revenue, and brand impact.
  • Positive contribution to Beyond Nine’s scale‑up journey, with continuous process and performance improvements.

Key Relationships

  • Internal: Founder/CEO (line manager and strategic alignment), Head of PR and Head of Creative (ensuring aligned campaigns and messaging), Product and Merchandising teams (supporting launches and optimising customer journey), Wider Beyond Nine team (sharing insights and contributing to cross‑functional initiatives).
  • External: Paid media agencies and in‑house media teams (optimising campaigns and creative testing), Affiliate and influencer partners (building, nurturing, and optimising relationships), Platform representatives (Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest) for ongoing updates and opportunities, Industry networks and communities (keeping Beyond Nine at the forefront of trends and best practices).

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in marketing or growth leadership roles, preferably in e‑commerce or DTC businesses.
  • Strong experience leading paid media, affiliate marketing, CRM, and e‑commerce optimisation.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills, with experience defining KPIs, budgets, and growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Hands‑on experience with tools such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, Shopify, Klaviyo, and CRO platforms.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing metrics (ROAS, CPA, CLTV) and the levers for which you can pull to drive growth.
  • The ability to interpret a large volume of data and determine the key trends and narrative.
  • Able to clearly communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in a start‑up or scale‑up environment is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a solution‑focused and positive outlook.
