The Ballinderry War Memorial Hall Management Committee is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to lead the delivery phase of the Ballinderry War Memorial Hall Restoration and Heritage Project. Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and other partners, the £1.2 million project will preserve the Hall's historical significance while transforming it into a Living Memorial and sustainable community hub.

Contract: 2-year fixed-term contract commencing June/July 2026

Salary: £26,000 per annum (with 3% increment in Year 2)

Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday, including occasional evenings/weekends)

Location: Home-based/Ballinderry War Memorial Hall, with some travel required

Annual Leave: 20 days plus public holidays (pro-rata)

Pension: 5% employer contribution (minimum 3% employee contribution)

Ballinderry War Memorial Hall was built in 1924 and is a Grade B1 listed building. The Hall commemorates those who served in the Great War. The project will safeguard the Hall's architectural and historical significance. Restoration works will create a vibrant, multi-functional community facility.

About The Role

The Project Manager will lead the delivery of the Ballinderry War Memorial Hall Restoration and Heritage Project, ensuring the successful completion of restoration works, effective stakeholder engagement, and the achievement of the project's heritage and community objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, activities, and performance targets
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and the Hall Management Committee to ensure successful project delivery
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and funding requirements, ensuring compliance with funder conditions
  • Support the long-term sustainability of the Hall through funding opportunities and business planning
  • Deliver community engagement activities, consultations, events, and heritage initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, heritage organisations, schools, and community groups
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and GDPR-compliant record keeping
  • Promote the Hall and project activities through marketing and partnership working

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
  • At least 3 years experience managing community or heritage projects, including work involving historic buildings
  • Experience coordinating projects and working with multiple stakeholders and partner organisations
  • Experience managing and reporting on grant funding
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of GDPR
  • Commitment to community and heritage development
