Full Circle Generation own and operate an advanced thermal treatment facility located in Belfast. Based on the current workload and planned future projects, Full Circle Generation require a Mechanical Lead to oversee and manage the mechanical maintenance team to ensure the efficient and safe execution of all maintenance tasks. This role will provide technical leadership, with a strong focus on optimising plant performance and safety.

About The Role

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with Full Circle Generations Safe Systems of Work, prioritising the protection of people, plant, and the environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, ensuring that all team members understand and follow required procedures and policies.
  • Provide technical input into the development and implementation of preventative maintenance tasks within the CMMS (Maximo), ensuring tasks are correctly logged, scheduled, and prioritised to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability.
  • Regularly review the CMMS to optimise maintenance strategies, analyse performance trends, and adjust plans based on operational needs.
  • Review work packages in advance to ensure all permits, RAMS, parts, and tooling are available, preventing technician downtime.
  • Work closely with the Mechanical Engineer to develop and implement technical solutions to maintenance challenges, ensuring that preventative maintenance strategies are aligned with operational needs and plant performance goals.
  • Liaise with Stores to verify parts availability and ensure accurate booking of materials against work orders, particularly during out-of-hours callouts.
  • Lead shift handover meetings to pass on plant status, safety-critical items, and outstanding work, ensuring smooth continuity between shifts.
  • Oversee and manage mechanical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring tasks are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure on-call rota is supported at all times.

Required Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Welding qualification / experience.
  • Knowledge of PSSR (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Technical expertise in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
