We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our well-established GP practice, serving approximately 7,000 patients in the greater Dungannon area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and progressive practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient care.

Working closely with the GP Partners, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of the practice, leading and supporting the administrative team, overseeing financial and operational performance, and driving continuous service improvement. Whilst experience within a healthcare setting is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates with strong leadership, operational management and people management experience who can demonstrate the skills required to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

About The Role

  • Managing the day-to-day operational running of the practice.
  • Leading, motivating and developing the administrative and support teams.
  • Managing practice finances, budgets and business performance.
  • Supporting the GP Partners in the strategic development of the practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, NHS regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Leading on HR matters including recruitment, employee relations, performance management and staff development.
  • Driving continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Overseeing premises, health and safety, information governance and practice systems.

Required Criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English & Maths (Grade C or above)
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong keyboard skills
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience
  • Strong financial management skills (including spreadsheets, bookkeeping and accounts)
  • Excellent communication and organisational/time management skills

  • AMSPAR qualification
  • Management qualification
  • Experience working within a GP practice / HSC environment (including QOF and/or clinical systems such as Healthy Crosscare)
