About The Role Key Responsibilities: Meat Preparation: Skilfully preparing cuts of meat, poultry and other products to customers specifications. Customer Service: Provide friendly and knowledgeable service, assisting customers with questions and recommendations Counter Management: Ensure the counter display is well-presented, fully stocked, and refreshed throughout the day Safety and Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the work area and follow food safety guidelines Stock Control: Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and ordering as needed to ensure fresh products are available and waste is kept to a minimum. Cash Handling: Handle cash and card transactions via EPOS, and assist with end-of-day reporting Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service Requirements Experience: Experience as a butcher, ideally with experience in a customer-facing role or a retail butcher counter Skills: Proficient in various cuts of meat, handling of equipment, and maintaining counter displays Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focussed attitude Knowledge: Understanding of food safety regulations and general health and safety practices Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
