The Role: Gracehill After School Club is seeking an After School Assistant (Level 5) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified childcare professional who is passionate about creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children. As a Level 5 assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations. You will lead by example, providing high-quality care and engaging activities that promote learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Collect children from school and ensure their welfare at all times.
- Share responsibility for Breakfast Club and after-school activities.
- Plan and deliver a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and schools.
- Maintain accurate records of children's learning and development.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Work flexibly as part of the team, supporting colleagues when needed.
- Assume responsibility for the club in the Manager's absence, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of care.

Required Criteria:
- NVQ Level 5 in childcare or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
- A full clean driving license
- Minimum 2 years working with children in an after-school or childcare setting
- Experience planning and delivering age-appropriate activities
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a childcare environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
