Responsibilities

In this role, you'll carry out all fire inspections and health and safety inspections within our block communal areas, offices, depots and community buildings, ensuring they are safe, clean and clear of obstructions. You'll also carry out routine testing and inspection of passive and active fire protection systems and document the results. As our facilities technician, you'll undertake a wide array of tasks, including:

  • Waste management
  • Fire alarm, emergency light and smoke alarm testing
  • Removing and managing rubbish and hazardous materials utilising the TORT process
  • Water hygiene inspections and flushing
  • Security checks
  • Landlord meter reading for PV, gas, electric and water
  • Provide on site support to the facilities team
  • Building safety inspections
  • Contractor support
  • KMS and router resets, fault finding, etc.
  • Safe isolation procedures

A level of flexibility and expertise will be required to complete your work accurately for checks and reporting for audit. Another key responsibility will be to positively promote Beyond Housing and ensure there is a great health and safety culture within the team, making sure all risk assessments and safe working practices are strictly adhered to.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in a maintenance or compliance environment (or another related area of work), excellent IT skills, excellent communication skills, and be an effective team worker. You will also be required to hold a full driving license.
