Beyond Education is an Ofsted regulated tutoring company in Urmston, Manchester. We tutor children aged 5-18 in English, maths, science, and also for school entrance exams. Children are tutored face‑to‑face in our centre.
Requirements
- Passion for teaching the secondary maths curriculum
- Availability to work on Thursdays 4-8pm (other daytime and evening work available for the right candidate)
- Suitable for qualified maths teachers including ECTs
- Subject to enhanced DBS check
- Able to work independently using initiative as well as working as part of a team
- GCSEs or equivalent
- A levels or equivalent
- Qualified teacher status
- Subject to references
- Able to teach to the maths GCSE exams
Preferred
- DBS check on update service
- Flexible
- Experience of teaching maths to A level
- Experience of teaching key stages 2-5 maths
Responsibilities
- Teach secondary school pupils in science on both a 1:1 and small group basis
- Support colleagues with less experience (e.g. supporting training, guiding, mentoring those who are not qualified teachers)
- Plan effectively for sessions, including those in small groups
- Ensure resources are organised and ready to teach before sessions
- Liaise with colleagues and parents regarding students' progress
- Plan for a teaching assistant to support small group sessions
