Beyond Education is an Ofsted regulated tutoring company in Urmston, Manchester. We tutor children aged 4-18 in English, maths, science and also for school entrance exams. Children are tutored face-to-face in our centre.
Responsibilities / What we are looking for:
- Has a passion for teaching the secondary English curriculum
- Is available to work Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays between 4-8pm
- Opportunity for additional hours including daytime hours for the right candidate
- The position is suitable for any secondary English teachers including NQTs, RQTs, trainee teachers, English graduates or those studying English literature and/or language
- Subject to enhanced DBS check
- Able to work independently using initiative as well as working as part of a team
- English literature and language GCSE grades 7/A or above
- Subject to references
- Available to work at least one evening shift; Monday and/or Wednesday evenings 4-8pm
- DBS check on update service
- Flexible
- Experience of the AQA English language syllabus
- Experience of the AQA English literature syllabus
- Experience of the Eduqas English syllabus
- Experience of the iGCSE syllabus
Successful candidates will:
- Teach secondary school students English on a 1:1 or small group basis (if qualified)
- Support staff with less experience (training, guiding, mentoring)
- Plan effectively for their sessions, including those in small groups (if qualified)
- Ensure resources are organised and ready to teach before sessions
- Liaise with colleagues and parents regarding students' progress
- Plan for a teaching assistant to support small group sessions (if qualified)
- Candidates who are not qualified teachers will support qualified teachers with small groups

- Contracted hours to suit (working hours negotiable) - evenings only initially but potentially daytime hours available for the right candidate
