PCN Paramedic in Dartford

An exciting part time (12 to 16 hours per week) Paramedic position is available at Crayford Town Surgery, within the North Bexley PCN. The role involves working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver primary medical care and support Bexley’s Community Service initiatives.

Responsibilities

• The Paramedic Practitioner will work autonomously within the community, providing first point of contact for patients with undifferentiated conditions, and contributing to the delivery of the PCN Network Contract DES Service specifications.
• Provide enquiry, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for housebound patients with minor illness or injury.
• Deliver day‑to‑day primary medical care for housebound patients, including triage, treatment and appropriate referral.
• Document all consultations accurately and maintain contemporary healthcare records.
• Promote safe, evidence‑based care and participate in audit, CPD and continuous professional development.
• Work within budget constraints and identify efficiencies for the service.
• Contribute to the development of service protocols, patient information leaflets and home‑visit procedures.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with patients, GP, AHP and other health‑care professionals, 111 / UTCs, CD and PCN workforce.

Person Specification

Experience

• Experienced paramedic with excellent clinical competence.
• FCP compliant or on the Roadmap to Practice.
• Experienced in partnership and collaborative working across organisations.
• Knowledge of common acute and long‑term conditions seen in general practice.
• Proficient in assessing, triaging and treating patients and making definitive management decisions.
• Comfortable using IT systems, MS Office, email and internet.
• Experience in primary care and multi‑disciplinary team working.
• Knowledge of evidence‑based practice principles.
• Experience of undertaking home visits.

Qualifications

• A qualified degree or diploma in Paramedicine or equivalent experience.
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Completed a two‑year Consolidation of Learning period as a newly qualified paramedic.
• Demonstrated clinical competence through CPD and interview.
• Completed safeguarding and other mandatory training.
• Basic Life Support training.
• Post‑graduate diploma or equivalent for specialist knowledge.
• Working towards Level 7 capability and completion of the Advanced Clinical Practice Framework.
• Evidence of continuous learning and development.

Salary

£56,000 per year, pro‑rata to 12–16 hours per week.
