Personal Progress Tutor

33 hours a week over 5 days – term time, including enrolment, so candidates must be available from GCSE results day each August to participate in the reinterview process.

Bexhill College is looking for enthusiastic and well‑qualified graduates to act as Personal Progress Tutors, supporting our students to achieve their qualifications. Personal Progress Tutors have a key role in tutorial delivery and in supporting students with UCAS and their next steps. We are committed to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment, believing that an outstanding curriculum and excellent support are key to student success, and our personal tutors play a crucial role in achieving this.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tutorial sessions to help students reach their full potential.
  • Support students with UCAS applications and guidance on their next steps.
  • Work closely with students, staff and parents to monitor academic progress.
  • Participate in training and development programmes, including the opportunity to undertake a Certificate in Education.

Qualifications

  • Confidence in working with young people.
  • Hold a degree in any area – full training will be provided.
  • Willingness to undertake a Certificate in Education if desired.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willing to obtain one after successful interview).

Application Process

The College reserves the right to interview and appoint early if a suitable candidate applies. An application form must be completed to proceed to interview. Successful candidates will be required to possess an enhanced DBS certificate to be employed at the College. If you do not hold one, this will be applied for after interview. Please be aware that we are also required to conduct online searches as part of our safeguarding checks and due diligence for all shortlisted candidates.
