About the Role
Teaching Assistant to support science and animal management students in their post‑16 studies at a sixth‑form college. The role involves providing high‑quality academic support across A‑level and vocational courses (levels 2 and 3) both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Offer academic support to science and animal management students, tailoring assistance to different levels of study.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Provide holiday cover for animal management technicians and ad hoc sickness cover as required.
- Support the care and welfare of a variety of animal species, including animal husbandry and facility operations.
- Work five days a week from August2026, including weekend work and coverage during college holidays.
Qualifications
- Degree level education.
- Passion for animal care, welfare and behaviour.
- Ability to work effectively with young people.
- Enhanced DBS certificate and successful completion of safeguarding checks and online searches.
- Availability for full term‑time hours and occasional extra days for holiday cover.
