We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Coordinator/Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team. You will have excellent people and organisation skills and work well under pressure. You will also need to be flexible, highly motivated and be committed to tackling health inequality.

Bevan Community Benefit Society provide sensitive and responsive Primary Care services for people who are homeless or living in temporary unstable accommodation, those who have come to Leeds and Bradford as asylum seekers and refugees, and other groups who find it difficult to access health care.

Job responsibilities
You will provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis. To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patients.
To contribute to the maintenance of patient confidentiality at all times, inside and outside the Practice.
Experience of dealing with patients from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures will be needed along with excellent communication and computer skills. Knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
To contribute to the smooth running of the reception / admin function in order to provide a first class service to patients and visitors
To provide a high quality service to patients, doctors and other members of the Primary Health Care Team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good standard of education
- GCSE, O Level or equivalent in English & Maths Level C or above
- Willing to undertake further training and development
- Practice receptionist (e.g.PRP, NCFE) or Customer Care (e.g.NVQ) qualification
- European Computer Driving License (ECDL), ELITE or equivalent IT qualification
Experience
- Previous experience of working in a customer focused role
- Experience of dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds/different cultures
- Previous clerical/administrative experience in Primary Care
- Previous experience of working in a GP Practice
- Experience of GP Practice clinical software particularly TPP System 1
Special Knowledge & Skills
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills on the telephone and face to face
- Able to communicate with a range of people in a manner appropriate to their needs and situation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Understanding of Data Protection and Information Governance principles
- Committed to the Social Enterprise model of business and patient care
