Why we need you

As the Head of Safer Gambling, you’ll be supporting the delivery of safer gambling strategies by overseeing a team totalling 5 people, covering all aspects relating to safer gambling in order to ensure we remain compliant with relevant legislation and regulations. This will help us excel at minimising risks associated with problem gambling, to stay ahead of the game.
What you’ll be doing
- Strategic Leadership and Program Oversight - Providing direction, management and leadership to the Safer Gambling and Responsible Gambling teams across multiple office locations. Helping create and implement robust frameworks for detecting and preventing problem gambling.
- Policy Development and Implementation - Developing, implementing and continuously improving Safer Gambling related policies and procedures. Conducting effectiveness assessments to ensure implemented policies and procedures are fit for purpose and in line with regulations / best practices.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Producing risk assessments to identify, analyse and mitigate potential risks. Supporting the Head of Compliance to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned with social responsibility best practices and ensuring the organisation's customer interaction programme has the appropriate risk profile and is actively managed.
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting - Establishing a relationship with regulators. Overseeing regulator assessments / audits. Overseeing internal and external audits. Ensuring the organisation's compliance with safer gambling regulations.
- Corporate Governance - Integrating safer gambling considerations into the overall corporate governance framework. Ensuring alignment with other risk management functions. Participating in safer gambling related committees and working groups.
- Technology and Data Analytics - Using data to drive efficiencies. Establishing what data is required for accurate reporting. Supporting the Head of Compliance to ensure that advanced analytics, machine learning and other technological tools are used to detect and prevent problem gambling. Working with IT and Data teams to implement and maintain safer gambling systems and ensuring they are effectively integrated into the organisation's operations.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation - Staying informed about the latest developments in safer gaming practices, technologies and regulatory changes. Applying this knowledge to continuously drive improvement and innovation of the Safer Gambling programmes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication - Working closely with various departments, including Legal, Operations, AML, Data and IT, to ensure a cohesive approach to safer gambling compliance.

- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations.
Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting, including market selection, odds calculation, betting types and market trends.
- Previous experience in a Head of role.
- Proficient in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
- Experience managing remote teams.
- Safer Gambling related certification/s.
