A Payroll Coordinator supporting payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and liaison with HR and finance. Reports to Senior Payroll Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing
- Prepare and process payroll for all employees in Payspace and Workday (salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, etc.).
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
- Calculate and apply deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, etc.
- Payroll Reconciliations
- Prepare and post salary journals and leave provisions.
- Perform monthly General Ledger and salary control account reconciliations for year‑end audits.
- Prepare annual and bi‑annual statutory payroll reconciliations.
- Reporting
- Produce Overtime reports, Employee Benefits Reports, Month‑end Costing Reports, Payroll Register, Company Variance Report, Net Pay Listing, Payroll Reconciliation, Headcount Report.
- Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws for payroll taxes.
- Prepare and submit periodic tax filings (quarterly/annual returns).
- Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Ensure correct deduction of employee contributions.
- Employee Inquiries
- Respond to employee queries on payroll discrepancies, deductions, and other payroll matters.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues timely.
- Audit Support
- Assist in audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Handle sensitive payroll data with confidentiality.
- Liaison with HR and Finance
- Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, benefits.
- Work with finance to allocate payroll costs accurately.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of end‑to‑end payroll experience covering multiple payrolls.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, P11D, RTI and auto‑enrolment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and numeracy skills.
- Accounting experience and proficiency with payroll systems such as Navision/Business Central/ADP streamline.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and ability to break down complex ideas.
- Collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Adaptability to fast‑moving environments.
- Experience working in Workday.
Desirable Skills
- In‑depth knowledge of sports betting markets, odds calculation, betting types, and market trends.
- Prior experience in online gaming or casino industry and understanding of player behaviour and regulations.
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Experience developing and executing customer retention strategies.
