An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Bettys Technical Team due to an upcoming maternity leave, and we are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant to join our small and friendly team on a fixed-term basis. As a QA Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the Bettys Technical Team to meet all quality, customer and legislative requirements. Reporting into the Quality Manager, this role is responsible for providing QA support to all areas of Bettys including our Craft Bakery, Bettys by Post (our online operation), our 5 shops and café tea rooms, and our Cookery School. Based at our Craft Bakery in Harrogate, with a requirement to visit our shops and café team rooms, this is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days for a period of 15 months. About you

  • This role would suit somebody who has a keen eye for detail and is able to assist the Quality Team in ensuring all food safety requirements are met and monitored to agreed schedules.
  • Has experience of conducting audits, checks and/or following specifications.
  • Is able to look out for and identify opportunities to make positive change and continuously improve in all aspects of food quality and safety.
  • Has excellent communication skills, enjoys working collaboratively and builds relationships with ease.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, Level 2 HACCP or other relevant qualifications, and experience of quality management systems would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience of a similar role within a food manufacturing/food production environment, or within the hospitality sector, would be advantageous.
  • Alternatively, this role would be an excellent entry level role for somebody wishing to pursue a career within the field of Technical.
