We’re looking for a Packaging Delivery Manager to join our Technical Operations team at Taylors of Harrogate – home of Yorkshire Tea and our premium Taylors of Harrogate tea and coffee range. In this role, you will lead, coach and develop a talented Packaging Technical team, ensuring packaging resources are allocated effectively to meet development needs of the business. This is a full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) based at our main site at Plumpton Park, Harrogate, HG2 7LD. We welcome flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working with three days on site per week.
Responsibilities
- Shape and influence our packaging strategy as part of the Packaging Hub.
- Act as the voice of consumer packaging expectations, balancing realism and desirability between Brand and Manufacturing.
- Collaborate and partner with Quality and Packaging Buyers to drive the packaging quality agenda.
- Build strong internal and external networks, staying ahead of latest practices and innovation.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert, authorising Food Contact Materials and ensuring Packaging Regulatory Compliance.
- Develop and manage a capability program to support the NDP Portfolio.
- Develop and manage the Packaging Technical budget, including re‑forecasting.
- Accountable for the compliance of Valpak, WRAP, OPRL and Plastic Tax submissions.
- Business partner with the Innovation Team to ensure packaging suitability and compliance.
About You
- Degree qualified in a scientific/technical discipline or equivalent work-related experience.
- Experienced in leading, coaching and developing a team.
- Able to represent consumer needs independently.
- Strong negotiation, communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong knowledge base to advise on selection and procurement of major capital packaging assets.
