An opportunity has arisen in our Front of House team and we are looking for someone to join us as our Deputy Front of House Manager (evening dining) at Bettys Cafe Tearooms in Bettys York. As a Deputy Front of House Manager you will be responsible for leading evening dining on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, supported by a rota of other managers. You will report to the Front of House Manager and be responsible for leading & inspiring a team of waiter/waitress/retail assistants to deliver operational excellence & exceptional customer service.
Using strong coaching & motivational skills, you will role model the behaviours within the Expectations Framework (our behavioural/competency framework) and support the Department Manager in delivering the business plan & KPI’s, balancing day to day operational delivery with a proactive strategic outlook. The role includes full line management responsibility for a small team of waiter/waitress/retail assistants ensuring due diligence training, relevant skills & craft training are maintained so the team can meet business objectives and continuously improve performance. This is a part time role working 18 hours over 3 evenings Thursday/Friday/Saturday. The start and finish times can vary depending on opening and closing hours of the branch. You will be required to work at least one day at the weekend every week. If you would like to discuss working patterns please provide more details in your application.
About You
You’ll have a background of working in and organising a busy cafe. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a team. You will have knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. Ideally you will have previous experience of working to KPI’s such as labour budgets.
