An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Coffee Buying Team as a Coffee Tasting Room Assistant.

Our Coffee Buying Team is renowned for sourcing high‑quality coffee and building long‑standing partnerships with coffee producers. We are looking for someone who can support the successful delivery of activities in our tasting room, helping to ensure we meet the quality standards of our green and roasted coffee.

As a Coffee Tasting Room Assistant, you will ensure consistent and accurate preparation and clean‑down of tasting sessions. You will also keep data on internal systems accurate and up to date, and keep the tasting room clean and tidy.

The Coffee Tasting Room Assistant role is based on site in our coffee tasting room at our offices in Harrogate, where we blend and manufacture our premium range of teas and coffees. Working from home is not available in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and roasting dozens of coffee samples every day.
  • Ensuring all coffee samples are dealt with in a timely fashion and prioritised accordingly.
  • Managing and filing green and roasted samples.
  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of tasting room equipment.
  • Helping manage the tasting room diary and emails using Outlook.

Working Arrangements

  • Part‑time: 4 days a week (30 hours) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (8am to 4pm).
  • Full‑time: 5 days a week (37.5 hours) from Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm).

About You

Our ideal candidate will be well‑organised and self‑motivated with good attention to detail. You must be able to work comfortably both independently and as part of a team. You will have good IT skills (Excel and Outlook) and strong verbal communication skills. We’re looking for someone who will be flexible and adaptable to a variety of tasks – from updating data on our systems to maintaining a clean, tidy and efficient tasting room. Full training will be given given the unique nature of some responsibilities.
