Join us as a Business Analyst at Bettys and Taylors Group. Our family business is home to three iconic Yorkshire brands - Yorkshire Tea, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join our Central Change Team on a permanent basis. Based at Plumpton Park in Harrogate, you will help to ensure a clear understanding of business change objectives/problem statements and translate them into clear specifications of functional requirements (system and non-system). This will include ensuring that there is traceability of functional requirements throughout test/training/process activity stages. You will also ensure data and process impacts are specified as part of any change activity whilst helping to support pragmatic scoping of change to maximise business benefits from minimum input.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with business SMEs to clarify key project problem statements/change objectives as part of the initial change assessment phase.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define project scope based upon options available to partially or fully meet project objectives, providing insight into possible levels of complexity/effort needed to meet requirements.
  • Lead documentation of functional requirements for allocated change projects, including complex CRIMs aiming to be delivered in an agile approach.
  • Gather insight to inform effective, realistic, and stretching estimations for timescales and work to achieve these.
  • Support education/upskilling of BAU teams in requirements articulation to enable them to define requirements for smaller/simpler changes.
  • Build effective working relationships with business change leads; partnering, challenging and advising to redesign inefficient business processes either ad hoc or as part of a larger project.
  • Support maintenance of as-is business understanding, against which all future changes will be impact assessed.
  • Support set up and help establish Business Architecture Capability.

What You Bring:

  • Experience of business analysis for IT enabled change projects including process and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience of requirements gathering including providing traceability through to testing and training activity.
  • Self-driven with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong evidence of relationship building.
  • Confidence and ability to effectively challenge the status quo.
  • Experience in large-scale organizational change projects.
  • Ability to align vision, objectives, and requirements to solutions.
  • Proficiency in agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Strategic experience with external suppliers and partners.
  • Ideally would have worked within a complex, multi-business, multi-stakeholder and multi-system environment.

What We Offer You:

As a minimum, all our employees receive free meals, drinks and snacks while at work, a discretionary quarterly profit-share bonus, holiday allowance with the option to buy and (in some cases) sell additional days, company-wide employee discounts, access to our health cash plan, wellbeing support, company funded counselling, and enrolment in the company pension.
