Overview
An opportunity has arisen in our Bettys by Post (BYP) team for a BYP Operations Team Leader to join the Online Operations department in Bettys Bakery, Harrogate. This is a fixed-term role until end April 2026. Bettys by Post is responsible for ensuring our customers receive their Bettys treats beautifully packaged. BYP works closely with our couriers, third-party packing partners and our bakery team to ensure products arrive with our customers on time.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Fulfilment Assistants to achieve high customer satisfaction through accurate and efficient despatch of Bettys by Post orders, on time and in full.
- Collaborate with the Online Operations management team to ensure the operation runs effectively and supports operational excellence.
- Provide leadership presence, motivate, communicate, and support team needs; ensure actions align with Food Safety, Health & Safety, Data Protection law and all other relevant standards.
- Help achieve departmental financial targets, including packaging, product and staffing costs; proactively manage workflow and allocate resources to ensure orders are despatched on time and to standard.
- Support scheduling and resource planning to balance workload in the department.

About you
- Experience in supply chain/warehousing
- Experience in leading and managing a small team
- Understanding of an online stock management operation (desirable)
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Health & Safety practices (practical)
- Experience using stock management systems
- Forklift truck qualification (desirable) or willingness to learn
- Positive, organized, and clear communicator; ability to build effective working relationships
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
