An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join our Central Change Team on a permanent basis.
Location and Role Overview
Based at Plumpton Park in Harrogate, you will help ensure a clear understanding of business change objectives and translate them into clear specifications of functional requirements, both system and non-system. You will also ensure traceability of functional requirements throughout testing, training, and process activity stages, specify data and process impacts, and support pragmatic scoping of change to maximise business benefits from minimum input.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business SMEs to clarify key project problem statements and change objectives as part of the initial change assessment phase.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scope based on options available to partially or fully meet project objectives, and provide insight into possible levels of complexity and effort required.
- Lead documentation of functional requirements for allocated change projects, including complex CRIMs, aiming to be delivered in an agile approach.
- Gather insight to inform effective, realistic, and stretching estimations for timescales and work to achieve these.
- Support education and upskilling of BAU teams in requirements articulation to enable them to define requirements for smaller, simpler changes.
- Build effective working relationships with business change leads; partner, challenge, and advise to redesign inefficient business processes either ad hoc or as part of a larger project.
- Support maintenance of as‑is business understanding, against which all future changes will be impact assessed.
- Support set up and help establish Business Architecture Capability.
Qualifications
- Experience of business analysis for IT‑enabled change projects, including process and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience of requirements gathering, including traceability through to testing and training.
- Self‑driven with a can‑do attitude.
- Strong evidence of relationship building.
- Confidence and ability to effectively challenge the status quo.
- Experience in large‑scale organisational change projects.
- Ability to align vision, objectives, and requirements to solutions.
- Proficiency in agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Strategic experience with external suppliers and partners.
- Ideally experience working within a complex, multi‑business, multi‑stakeholder, and multi‑system environment.
