BettingJobs is working with a long-established UK sportsbook to recruit a Junior Rugby Trader for its well-established Rugby Desk. This is a great opportunity for a sharp, numerate rugby enthusiast to build a trading career with mentorship from an experienced team.

The Junior Rugby Trader will price and trade rugby matches across the operator's markets, both pre-match and in-play, with support and coaching to sharpen your skills. The role follows a shift pattern dictated by the rugby calendar. It suits someone with a strong quantitative background, a genuine passion for rugby and a sharp betting brain who stays calm and accurate under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Research matches in depth, combining strong data analysis with detailed knowledge of teams, players and their individual abilities.
  • Apply statistical and probability-based methods to build the most accurate prices possible, both pre-match and in-play.
  • Monitor liabilities and move prices in response to changing circumstances and market conditions.
  • Trade matches in-running, adjusting prices based on live action and managing online bet requests.
  • Accurately build and settle markets, keeping errors, mistakes and omissions to a minimum.
Requirements
  • A strong degree, ideally in a quantitative subject (e.g. maths, statistics, economics or data science).
  • Strong data analysis skills and a solid grasp of probability and statistics, with the ability to turn data into accurate prices.
  • A genuine passion for rugby, with in-depth knowledge of teams, players and their abilities.
  • Highly numerate, with a sharp betting/trading brain and a genuine interest in betting markets.
  • Able to work to a very high standard, staying calm and accurate in a pressured environment.
  • Happy to work a shift pattern (including early, late and night shifts plus weekends) aligned with the rugby calendar.
