About the Team:
Our diverse Product & Engineering team values innovation, collaboration, and the continuous improvement of our platform. We offer a dynamic work environment where employees can grow and thrive while working on cutting‑edge technology that shapes the future of AI and search. At AlphaSense, we believe that diverse experiences and perspectives are critical to our success. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to be their authentic selves.
About the Role:
AlphaSense is moving beyond search toward AI‑powered decision workflows and proactive intelligence that help professionals understand markets, monitor change, and act with confidence. Mobile is a critical part of that shift: our customers need trusted intelligence in fast‑moving moments, not only when they are sitting at a desktop.
As a Staff iOS Engineer, you will own and evolve the native Apple platform that makes those experiences possible. You will shape the architecture, quality bar, and engineering foundations for high‑value workflows on iPhone and iPad today, while keeping AlphaSense ready for future Apple surfaces as customer needs expand. This is a hands‑on Staff role with significant architectural ownership and long‑term product leverage. You will help define how we build high‑trust native experiences for enterprise customers who expect security, reliability, and polish by default. You will also help shape how AI‑enabled development changes mobile engineering itself.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the iOS platform foundation: Define the app architecture, modular boundaries, and native engineering patterns that keep AlphaSense on iOS fast, reliable, secure, and maintainable as the product grows.
- Lead through hands‑on system design: Work deeply in Swift, SwiftUI, and Swift concurrency while turning complex product and platform problems into clean, production‑ready mobile systems.
- Raise the bar for reliability and execution: Shape how mobile work is designed, reviewed, tested, shipped, and operated, including the automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI‑enabled validation needed to move quickly with confidence.
- Shape mobile system contracts: Bring enough Android and backend context to align teams around API behavior, failure modes, authentication and session flows, performance expectations, ownership boundaries, and technical decisions that directly affect mobile quality.
- Mentor and multiply: Elevate engineers across the mobile engineering team and adjacent technical teams through mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing. Shape technical culture and raise expectations for system design, operational quality, and execution.
What We’re looking for:
Required:
- Deep expertise in iOS platform architecture, modular design, performance, security, reliability, SwiftUI, and modern Swift concurrency in production systems.
- Ability to reason across the full mobile system, including Android constraints, backend API behavior, authentication and session flows, release risks, and client/backend service contracts.
- Experience using AI‑assisted development workflows, AI harnesses, evaluation practices, or AI‑driven testing systems to improve engineering velocity, quality, and regression confidence.
- Strong reliability and release‑quality mindset, including experience with testing strategy, automation, observability, CI/CD, and production mobile quality practices.
- Track record of leading significant technical initiatives, setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and raising the technical bar across teams.
- Excellent product judgment and communication skills, including the ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and align teams through RFCs, ADRs, technical plans, or decision records.
Preferred:
- Experience with iPadOS, macOS, or multi‑platform Apple product experiences.
- Experience with enterprise mobile application development, MDM/MAM, or regulated customer environments.
- Experience building or adopting design systems in production mobile applications.
- Experience making targeted contributions to backend services or APIs using technologies such as Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
