We value and uphold transparency, trust, and accountability in our relationships within the team and with external partners and internal stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to oversee our M&A Transactions and Valuations content. Candidates should have deep knowledge of the fundamentals of capital markets and investment research combined with extensive experience of managing 3rd‑party or proprietary M&A Transactions content feeding into financial research platforms and investment analysis workflow functionality.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience working in Product, Content, Operations, or equivalent roles at a financial institution, investment research platform, or market intelligence firm, focused on the delivery of content, features, analytics, and models for front‑office investment professionals.
  • 3+ years of experience managing or working closely with a globally distributed content generation operation.
  • Expert knowledge of various market data and investment research databases, products, and tools (e.g.: Fundamentals, Estimates, M&A Transactions data, Ownership data, Market data, Excel plug‑in, XML feeds).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dedicated cross‑functional development team of engineers, data experts, QA, and scrum master.
  • Thorough understanding of the logic and concepts of relational databases (e.g.: SQL); demonstrated experience using them is strongly preferred.
  • BSc, MSc, or MBA degree with a concentration in finance or economics or a CFA certification.
  • Demonstrated passion for corporate finance, capital markets, financial analysis, and modeling demonstrated either in previous capacity in a buy‑side or sell‑side analyst role or have managed products/features/data used by investment professionals.
  • You have a natural enthusiasm for working at the intersection of data, technology, and finance.
  • You thrive in a builder’s role – you have designed, built, launched and managed a marquee product, module, or functionality for the investment community or have set the foundation and successfully run an extensive content generation operation.
  • You excel at aligning diverse, cross‑functional teams through clear, persuasive communication and executive‑level presentations.
  • You demonstrate empathic communication, with the ability to listen and identify problems in need for solutions.
  • You’re highly analytical, tech‑savvy, and meticulous, with a strong ability to set priorities, manage deadlines, and deliver results.
  • Material experience in the financial industry as a front office professional (e.g. research analyst or investment banker) leveraging platforms and content similar to AlphaSense’s is preferred.
  • Prior experience at a market intelligence or financial research SaaS start‑up is preferred.
  • Experience using iterative / agile development methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience working with distributed teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the Need: Understand the market and use cases of various AlphaSense user personas. Collaborate with Sales and Clients/Users to solicit feedback for new content and functionality or enhancement needs.
  • Define the Roadmap: Create and manage a content roadmap by working with the content organization leadership, engineering, and operations stakeholders to plan and optimize costs, benefits, timelines, and technology person‑power mix for all aspects of content 3rd‑party sourcing or in‑house generation.
  • Own the Content Life‑cycle: Take ownership of key projects to evaluate and integrate third‑party or self‑source proprietary datasets and their related features from initial research and definition to testing, delivery, feedback, and on‑going enhancements.
  • Own the Content Generation Process: Lead the collaboration between content engineering and operations in designing the end‑to‑end data collection process including building and maintaining taxonomies and optimizing for the best mix of technology (speed, automation) and person‑power (expert interpretation of reporting, exception handling), integrity checks, and QA process.
  • Launch the Content: Contribute to the successful launch of new features into the market, including the creation of internal and external comms/announcements, marketing collateral, documentation, training material, and client engagement.
  • Own Content Collection Policies: Be the ultimate owner of content collection methodologies, rules and policies. Establish and maintain the balance between inbound expert user feedback on one hand, and process or technology/person‑power limitations on the other.
  • Industry and Competitive Intelligence: Track industry trends and deliver competitive intelligence to better evolve product and content vision. Analyze other relevant competing content sets in the market and interact with customers to understand their workflows and pain points and gather and document actionable feedback.
