At AlphaSense, we believe that diverse experiences and perspectives are critical to our success. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to be their authentic selves.

About the Role

AlphaSense has spent more than a decade helping professionals find, trust, and synthesize market intelligence. With SuperAnalyst, we are expanding that foundation into continuous, decision‑ready execution: workflows that monitor change, update outputs, and surface what matters as situations evolve. Mobile is a critical part of that future because the moments that matter do not only happen when customers are sitting at a desktop. Android is an important surface for that future because continuous, decision‑ready workflows need to feel fast, secure, and reliable across phones, foldables, and managed enterprise environments.

As a Staff Android Engineer, you will own and evolve the Android architecture and mobile‑facing foundations that shape product quality across customer workflows. You will work from deep Android expertise while shaping the technical decisions, validation practices, and delivery patterns that help teams build reliable native experiences with confidence. This is a hands‑on Staff role with significant architectural ownership, platform‑level leverage, and long‑term product impact. You will help teams move faster while improving delivery predictability and preserving the quality, reliability, and trust that enterprise mobile experiences require, including by shaping the AI‑enabled development, validation, and testing practices that make Android delivery safer and more confident.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the Android platform foundation: Define the Android architecture, modular boundaries, and native engineering patterns that make AlphaSense experiences fast, reliable, secure, and easier to evolve as the product grows.
  • Lead through hands‑on Android system design: Turn complex product and platform problems into durable production architecture grounded in deep Android expertise and modern Android platform practices.
  • Improve reliability and delivery confidence: Shape how Android work is designed, reviewed, tested, shipped, and operated, including the automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI‑enabled validation needed to move quickly with confidence.
  • Create clear mobile‑facing system contracts: Partner with iOS, backend, product, and design to clarify API behavior, ownership boundaries, and platform expectations that protect native product quality without pushing hidden complexity into Android.
  • Raise mobile‑system judgment across teams: Turn complex mobile‑system work into reusable standards and stronger engineering judgment for the teams building native experiences.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Deep expertise in modern production Android architecture, with a track record of setting technical standards for a platform, product area, or native mobile domain.
  • Ability to represent mobile platform principles from a deep Android base, with enough iOS fluency to shape cross‑functional architecture decisions where backend, web, and product choices affect identity, reliability, release quality, observability, and native product outcomes.
  • Experience shaping mobile‑facing platform contracts, API behavior, or backend service boundaries that improve product quality across native client experiences.
  • Ability to read, debug, and make targeted contributions to backend systems when needed to unblock mobile‑facing outcomes.
  • Experience shaping AI‑enabled engineering systems that improve validation, product quality, and delivery confidence for Android and broader mobile outcomes.
  • Strong reliability and release‑quality judgment across production mobile systems, with experience raising quality standards for a platform or product area.
  • Track record making engineers around you better by turning complex mobile‑system work into clear standards, reusable patterns, and stronger technical judgment across teams.
  • Excellent product judgment and communication skills, including the ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and align teams around durable technical decisions.

Preferred

  • Experience building Android product experiences across varied device and form‑factor contexts, such as foldables, wearables, Android Auto, or other platform‑native surfaces.
  • Experience with enterprise mobile environments where identity, device management, compliance, or security constraints shape architecture, including MDM/EMM.
  • Experience shaping mobile design‑system foundations and design‑to‑code workflows that improve consistency, accessibility, development velocity, and AI‑assisted UI generation across native platforms.
