Our client, an educational establishment located in Bexleyheath, is seeking a temporary experienced Assistant Cook to cover sickness leave for six weeks commencing 2nd September 2026. They are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and highly-motivated Assistant Cook to join their busy, established school catering team.
You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritious, high-quality meals for their students and staff, while ensuring excellent standards of food hygiene and cleanliness are maintained across the kitchen and dining areas.
Hours: 8.00 am - 2.00 pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £340 per day

- Food Preparation & Cooking: Assist the second cook in preparing and cooking fresh, healthy meals in line with school nutritional guidelines and menus.
- Service & Dining: Support the team during meal service, ensuring portion control, attractive presentation, and a welcoming environment for pupils.
- Stock & Compliance: Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and adhering strictly to Health, Safety, and Food Hygiene regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a school kitchen.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 2 Award in Food Safety.
- An understanding of special dietary requirements and food allergies.
- A positive, caring attitude and the ability to work comfortably alongside children and staff.
