Our client, a 50 year-established family run Building Refurbishment Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their HO in Hither Green, London, SE13, to manage and process the procurement of construction-based materials, hired in plant and services for the company.
EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION & REFURBISHMENT IS ESSENTIAL
Responsible for
- Managing the Buying Department including a buyer and part time yard assistant.
- Sourcing and ordering materials, hired in plant and site services.
- Logistical planning of deliveries and services to accommodate the site management teams.
- Identifying and negotiating cost reduction opportunities with the supply chain.
- Source new suppliers and maintain their existing suppliers and sub-contractors data base.
- Working closely with other buyer(s) to manage and process the day-to-day order process.
- Working with the Estimating Department arranging materials, site services and sub-contractors costs for tenders.
- Arranging reports and information from suppliers to assist in carbon and waste reporting.
