We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established digital marketing agency in Manchester that’s looking to grow its performance team with the addition of an SEO Executive. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of clients in different sectors, delivering results-focused SEO strategies and taking a hands-on role in technical SEO delivery.

As part of a collaborative agency environment, you’ll work alongside SEO, content, PPC, and web development specialists to help clients achieve their organic growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Sitebulb, or equivalent.
  • Monitor and optimise client site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and page speed.
  • Collaborate with in-house developers and external teams to implement SEO recommendations.
  • Perform keyword research and competitive analysis to inform campaign strategies.
  • Analyse performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues such as crawl errors, broken links, and duplicate content.
  • Support on-page optimisation including metadata, internal linking, and content refinement.
  • Stay on top of SEO best practices, algorithm updates, and industry changes.

Required Experience & Skills

  • ~2+ years of experience in an SEO role, ideally within an agency environment.
  • ~ Strong technical SEO knowledge and the ability to apply it across multiple websites.
  • ~ Excellent Excel skills — including pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, and data analysis for reporting and SEO tracking.
  • ~ Proficient in SEO tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and similar.
  • ~ Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
  • ~ Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised with strong problem-solving skills.
  • ~ Confident communicator, capable of explaining SEO concepts to clients and stakeholders.

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Agency experience with multiple client accounts.
  • Exposure to e-commerce or international SEO.
  • Knowledge of structured data/schema markup.
  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance metrics.
  • Experience with log file analysis or server-side SEO insights.
