About the Role
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established digital marketing agency in Manchester that’s looking to grow its performance team with the addition of an SEO Executive. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of clients in different sectors, delivering results-focused SEO strategies and taking a hands-on role in technical SEO delivery.
As part of a collaborative agency environment, you’ll work alongside SEO, content, PPC, and web development specialists to help clients achieve their organic growth goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits using tools like Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Sitebulb, or equivalent.
- Monitor and optimise client site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and page speed.
- Collaborate with in-house developers and external teams to implement SEO recommendations.
- Perform keyword research and competitive analysis to inform campaign strategies.
- Analyse performance.
- Identify and resolve issues such as crawl errors, broken links, and duplicate content.
- Support on-page optimisation including metadata, internal linking, and content refinement.
- Stay on top of SEO best practices, algorithm updates, and industry changes.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in an SEO role, ideally within an agency environment.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge and the ability to apply it across multiple websites.
- Excellent Excel skills — including pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, and data analysis for reporting and SEO tracking.
- Proficient in SEO tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and similar.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised with strong problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator, capable of explaining SEO concepts to clients and stakeholders.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Agency experience with multiple client accounts.
- Exposure to e-commerce or international SEO.
- Knowledge of structured data/schema markup.
- Understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance metrics.
- Experience with log file analysis or server-side SEO insights.
