About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Category Analyst to join our dynamic team based in London. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both remotely and in the office, ensuring an ideal work-life balance. As a Category Analyst, you will be responsible for providing critical insights and data-driven recommendations that will shape category strategy and drive growth for our FMCG/CPG business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify category trends, customer preferences, and competitive performance.
  • Analyse sales data, inventory levels, and performance metrics to generate actionable insights for category management.
  • Support the development of category strategies, working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with broader business goals.
  • Assist in the creation of category reports and presentations, providing key stakeholders with accurate, timely, and insightful data.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity, tracking pricing strategies, promotions, and product innovations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to optimise product assortments and drive category growth.
  • Contribute to the development of forecasts and plans for product launches and promotional activities.
  • Help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the effectiveness of category strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
  • Experience in a category analyst or similar analytical role within the FMCG/CPG sector is preferred.
  • Proficient in using data analysis tools and software (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present findings to senior stakeholders.
