About Us

My client is one of the leading names in retail with a strong nationwide presence and a fast-paced, customer-focused culture. Their Head Office is the strategic hub driving innovation, commercial growth, and operational excellence across the retail estate.

They\’re currently looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join their dynamic HR team at Head Office. This is a key role providing expert HR support to their corporate functions and playing a vital part in delivering the people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generalist HR Support: Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to line managers and employees across head office departments, ensuring consistency and compliance with company policies and employment law.
  • Employee Relations: Manage a broad range of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence, and flexible working requests, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Policy Implementation: Support the implementation and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives across the business.
  • HR Projects: Contribute to the design and delivery of HR projects and initiatives including organisational change, engagement activities, and wellbeing programs.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate HR records and provide regular reporting on key people metrics, identifying trends and insights to inform business decisions.
  • Learning & Development: Support the coordination of training initiatives and work with the L&D team to identify development needs across the business functions.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Oversee elements of the employee lifecycle including onboarding, probation reviews, and exit interviews, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal policies, keeping up to date with legal developments and best practice.

Skills & Experience Required

  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent HR qualification
  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist role, ideally within a large, fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing ER cases with confidence and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar)
