18 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT – NPD MANAGER

My client is a health/wellness/fitness CPG business. They are looking for an NPD Manager to join their team for 18 months due to Maternity leave.

MUST HAVE HEALTH/PERSONAL CARE/SUPPLEMENT EXPERIENCE

Key Responsibilities

1. Identify new product opportunities by researching ingredient trends and consumer demands.
2. Develop and manage a 3-4 year innovation pipeline, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.
3. Optimize existing product formulations to enhance profit margins without impacting quality.
4. Reformulate products as necessary to maintain high standards of quality and efficacy when ingredients become unavailable.
5. Provide training and host innovation sessions to support team members.
6. Collaborate with contract manufacturer labs, supplying thorough briefs to guide sample development.
7. Conduct competitor, market, and clinical research analyses to inform product innovation.
8. Lead recipe creation and manage documentation across all phases from concept to launch.
9. Source new ingredients that meet design, cost, and regulatory requirements; act as a key point of contact for initial specifications and lead times.
10. Research quality improvement methods, working alongside the quality manager to create protocols.
11. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration through each stage of the New Product Development (NPD) process.
12. Ensure compliance by compiling necessary documentation for product information files (PIFs).
13. Conduct artwork reviews in Asana, adhering to legal standards for different regions.
14. Update relevant product information on the CPNP and SCNP portals.
15. Stay informed on regulatory changes in key markets to maintain compliant formulations and packaging.

Skills and Qualifications

1. BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Nutrition.
2. Minimum of 4 years\’ experience in the nutrition industry.
3. Proven formulation experience in nutritional supplements (cosmetic formulation is a plus).
4. Familiarity with lab settings is beneficial but not required.
5. Strong communication skills with a focus on presenting ideas, engaging in feedback, and understanding customer needs.
6. Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
7. Excellent project and time management skills.
