We are recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to join a high-end construction and development business in Wallingford with a strong reputation, a real focus on sustainability, and exciting plans for growth. This is a broad, hands-on role supporting the smooth running of three businesses. You’ll need to be highly organised, proactive, resilient and confident managing multiple priorities. This is not a role for someone who wants the same routine every day; the business is growing, and this role will grow with it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Office and business administration support across 3 businesses
- PA support to directors
- Diary management and meeting coordination
- Accounts prep and chasing unpaid invoices
- Procurement support, research, costings and POs
- Project admin support to Project Managers
- Managing compliance and safety documentation including H&S and ISO (includes occasional site visits)
- Improving processes and driving efficiency
- Supporting tenders, proposals and general business operations
- Managing documents, filing and project folders
- Liaising with external IT support
- Answering phones and helping keep everything running smoothly
What we’re looking for:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role
- Ideally a background in construction, development, property or similar
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Tech savvy with good Excel and Outlook skills
- Proactive, practical and improvement-focused
- Calm under pressure, accurate and detail-driven
- Confident communicator with a positive, can-do approach
- Able to adapt quickly in a growing and changing business
- Driving licence and own car
The role:
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (some flex available on this so if you can offer us 30 hrs per week please apply and tell us)
- Hybrid working available
- More office-based initially while learning the role
- Flexible start and finish times by agreement
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays
