Job Overview: We are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner to join its Early Years Team.

The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.

Key

Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver and evaluate activities covering all areas of the EYFS.

Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that meets individual children's needs.

Act as a Key Person for a group of children and work closely with parents/carers.

Observe, assess and record children's learning, development, behaviour and progress.

Maintain children's learning journals and share relevant information with parents/carers.

Support parents/carers with children's learning and development at home.

Promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout nursery practice.

Carry out risk assessments and ensure appropriate health, safety and safeguarding procedures are followed.

Identify, record and report safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Attend case conferences and multi-agency meetings when required.

Work collaboratively with external agencies and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.

Support and supervise nursery students, including contributing to their assessments.

Attend supervision, parent/carer meetings, staff meetings and relevant training.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with Council policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

Act as a positive role model for colleagues, children and families.

Work flexibly across different areas of the nursery according to service requirements.

Essential Skills & Knowledge: Strong ability to engage and build positive relationships with young children.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Confidence communicating with parents, carers and other professionals.

Knowledge of current childcare legislation and the EYFS framework .

Understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.

Knowledge of child development, care, learning and play.

Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusive practice.

Essential

Experience: Experience working or volunteering in a day nursery or pre-school setting .

Experience working with children aged 05 years .

Significant relevant experience appropriate to the level of the role.

Essential

Qualifications: Recognised, full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification or above. xiskglj

Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS check .
