We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Children’s Senior Practitioner.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the completion of comprehensive assessments and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) support plans, particularly in cases involving additional complexity.
  • Ensure that children can remain safely within their family networks wherever possible, while promoting long-term stability and permanence.
  • Provide peer support, mentoring, and professional guidance to colleagues while helping to maintain high practice standards across the service.
  • Prepare and present assessments to fostering panels.
  • Contribute to care planning discussions and key decision-making processes.
  • Work collaboratively with fostering, safeguarding, and legal teams.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Care).
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Experience in Kinship Care / Connected Persons Assessments / SGO Assessments.
  • Ability to produce high-quality evidence-based assessments.
  • Experience presenting cases to panels and multidisciplinary teams.
