We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Radiology Department as Deputy to the Principal Operations Radiographers – a key leadership role supporting the delivery of high-quality imaging services.
In this role, you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of radiographic services.
- Lead and motivate teams to deliver safe, efficient care.
- Work closely with senior leaders on service planning and improvement.
- Be a key contact for operational issues and workforce coordination.

Main duties / Responsibilities:
- Support Operational Delivery: Work closely with the Principal Operations Radiographers to ensure a high-quality, patient-centred radiology service.
- Maintain and Improve Standards: Lead by example in setting clinical and professional standards. Participate in audits and service reviews to identify and implement improvements.
- Supervise and Develop Staff: Provide supervision, assessment, and training for staff, students, and visitors, ensuring adherence to BCUHB policies, radiology protocols, and professional standards.
- Foster Collaborative Working: Promote effective communication and teamwork across departments, helping to resolve local operational issues as they arise.
- Undertake Line Management Duties: Support delegated responsibilities including return-to-work interviews, appraisals, and daily staff allocation.
- Compliance: This role requires excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of IR(ME)R and IRR17 regulations. It offers an excellent development opportunity for those aspiring to senior leadership roles.
