Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking an experienced Lead Informatics Midwife to lead the digital transformation of maternity services across the Health Board. This senior clinical leadership role is suited to a registered midwife with expertise in clinical informatics. The Lead will develop, implement, and optimise digital maternity systems to support safe, evidence-based care and improve outcomes and experience for women and families.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide clinical leadership for maternity informatics and digital transformation
  • Lead implementation and optimisation of maternity digital systems
  • Support service redesign and change management across maternity pathways
  • Ensure clinical safety, governance and data quality in digital systems
  • Use data to drive quality improvement and inform decision-making
  • Support workforce development and digital capability
  • Collaborate across clinical, digital and national stakeholders; provide assurance on delivery, safety and benefits realisation

Qualifications:

Essential criteria:

  • Registered Midwife with Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a health‑related subject
  • Evidence of a training qualification or equivalent experience
  • Maternity management experience, including resource management
  • Expertise in applying NHS Wales Health & Care standards into practice
  • Experience in undertaking maternity audits, including maternity documentation
  • Expertise in delivering training
  • Effective leadership skills, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Significant clinical experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and experience
  • Experience and understanding of change management processes
  • Knowledge of health service management, including workforce redesign

Desirable criteria:

  • Registered with a relevant informatics professional body
