An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 medicines management Pharmacy Technician to join the BCUHB Home Treatment Team who is registered within General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC). The job purpose is to provide medicines management support, training and stock management to the Home Treatment Team. This will involve providing a safe and effective pharmacy service to the Home Treatment Team, pharmaceutical advice and support to patients and MDT, and developing, encouraging and promoting evidence-based, cost effective use of medicines.

The Pharmacy Technician will assist in providing training and supervision for members of the Home Treatment Team, be involved in the development and delivery of audit and practice research and be expected to exercise a degree of autonomy and control in the performance of allocated duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for communicating complex and sensitive information to patients/carers regarding prescribed medicines, on obtaining further supplies and dealing with patient questions around their medication.

Main duties of the job include having strong problem solving skills. Applicants must be self-motivated and organised. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team and contribute to the process of service development and innovation by your own initiative and enthusiasm. You will act as an advocate for pharmacy services and guardian of medicines safety. You will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal and relationship building skills. The successful candidate will be required to travel and support across the region within the service. The right candidate will be given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills further through development opportunities supported by our friendly and experienced team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
