Operational Estates is looking for two enthusiastic Maintenance Assistants in Engineering to support maintenance of complex building services, plant and equipment at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and other community sites in Wrexham and Flintshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic technical and practical work tasks associated with operation and maintenance of complex engineering building services, plant and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair simple electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Assist other maintenance craftsmen in fully carrying out their duties.
  • Perform grounds maintenance on healthcare properties, including hospitals, health centres and clinics.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience as a maintenance assistant or similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of engineering building services and maintenance standards.
  • Willingness to travel between sites.
  • Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh (English acceptable).

Benefits

  • Annual leave allowance: 28 days for up to 5 years of service, 30 days for 5‑10 years, and 34 days for over 10 years, plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for part‑time staff).
