Are you a clinical pharmacist working at an advanced level in a patient-focused role in primary care?
Main Duties of the Job
We are looking for a Lead Clinical Pharmacist in our Skills, Education and Training Hub at Hillcrest Medical Centre. The Training Team will also include GPs and work collaboratively to deliver training, education and skills enhancement opportunities at the Health Centre, regionally as members of the Academy faculty, and will actively promote and undertake clinical research at the practice. The job plan will include protected/dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, which may include Pharmacists, Trainee Pharmacists, Medical Students, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainees. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop their own advanced clinical and professional development in line with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society advanced and consultant practice frameworks.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Hillcrest Medical Centre is situated in Wrexham and has a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff. The Practice operates a tailored telephony system to support patient access to services (as is standard across all Health Board practices in the East Area). It uses EMIS Web.
Person Specification
- Essential Criteria
- Registered pharmacist with the GPhC
- Independent prescriber
- A substantive level of post‑qualification experience in primary and/or secondary care, including within the area of clinical specialist practice
- Experience of working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Tutoring, mentoring or teaching experience at an advanced practice or post‑graduate level within the area of clinical specialist practice
- Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in providing specialist pharmacy services
- Desirable Criteria
- Teaching or assessing qualification
- Development of services across the primary and secondary care interface
- Experience of acting as a Designated Prescribing Practitioner
