The post holder is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of nursing care in an acute adult ward under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and to work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. Applications are welcome from both new and existing Band 2 HCSWs. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job include:
- Recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Band 2 Health Care Support Workers to join our Emergency Department team.
- The HCSW is an integral part of the team carrying out assigned tasks alongside registered nursing staff, including essential patient care, clinical duties and non-clinical duties.
- Ensuring the environment is kept clean and tidy for patients.
- Working as part of a large team of nurses, emergency nurse practitioners, doctors and a wider multidisciplinary team providing high quality care and safe discharge planning for our patients.
- Embracing the challenge acute nursing brings.
You will need excellent communication skills and team working ability. A keen interest in caring for emergency admissions and a willingness to learn is essential. The ideal candidate would possess good time management skills and be able to work under pressure.
