Are you looking for a satisfying job working with a friendly team within an interesting and varied service? We are looking for an administrator to support the work of our Dietitians within the East Dietetic service. To provide an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective appointment booking service. To provide comprehensive reception and booking support for Therapy services, demonstrating a courteous, professional and sensitive manner at all times. The post-holder is expected to prioritise, manage his/her time and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility.

Main duties of the job include inputting patient referrals onto the patient administration system and contacting patients by letter, email and telephone to arrange appointments. Excellent IT skills, ideally in using a hospital administration system (or similar) are essential and you’ll need to be an excellent, tactful communicator. We are looking for someone to be part of the team, who works confidently and efficiently, demonstrating a helpful, courteous, professional and sensitive manner at all times. By the nature of the duties, the post-holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, carers, relatives, medical staff and other service users, using the telephone and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post (Welsh language level 4-5).

  • Qualifications
    • Essential criteria: Good general education, Typing OCR/RSA Stage II or equivalent qualification/experience.
    • Desirable criteria: ECDL, NVQ Level 2 in relevant Administration or Customer Services.
  • Experience
    • Essential criteria: Admin experience in customer service environment.
    • Desirable criteria: Experience of working within the NHS (hospital environment), Experience within busy office/service environment, Experience of use of Therapy Manager system.
  • Skills
    • Essential criteria: Ability to prioritise workload, Excellent organisational skills, To function efficiently under pressure and to meet deadlines, Excellent communication skills, Welsh Language skills level 4-5 (ESSENTIAL FOR SHORTLISTING), Good knowledge of IT and Windows applications.
    • Desirable criteria: Knowledge of Patient Administration system/ORACLE.
