We are looking for a talented and organised Band A Dental Officer (*extended competency point). The successful candidate will have proven clinical and leadership competencies, excellent organisational skills and an ability to problem solve multiple issues within a fast‑paced custodial context.
Main duties of the job:
- You must be registered with the General Dental Council and have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent.
- You will be responsible for providing all aspects of general dental care for the residents of HMP Berwyn.
- Working in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Dental Service Specification for HMP Berwyn.

Person specification:
- Qualifications: Registration with the GDC, Bachelor in Dental Surgery, proven maintenance of post‑graduate continuing professional development, POVA training, ILS Certification.
- Experience: Substantial NHS experience in CDS, GDS or PDS including involvement in completion of forms and payment systems, familiarity with clinical IT systems for clinical records, data capture and appointments management, track record in all aspects of general dentistry, broad experience in adult dentistry including provision of care to older patients and denture work, routine extractions and basic oral surgery (roots and broken‑down teeth).
