Children’s Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Oncology Band 7. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and is expected to have extensive experience and expertise in the management of children and young people with oncology conditions.
Main Duties
- Provide specialist nursing expertise, knowledge and skills in clinical practice in care of an infant/child/young person with Cancer and Leukaemia.
- Act as an agent for change within defined clinical organisational boundaries.
- Function at a higher level of practice demonstrating higher levels of decision making, planning and collaborative working in the care of a child/young person with Cancer and Leukaemia.
- Provide clinical teaching and education to other colleagues to enhance clinical practice and improve patient care both in hospital and community settings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential
- Masters level qualification or equivalent level of experience / training / short courses.
- Registered Nurse on NMC Register with recognised Children’s Nursing qualification RN Child / RSCN.
- Experience of caring for children with oncology conditions.
- Family centred care.
- Practical aspects of cancer care.
- Administration of cytotoxic drugs / blood products.
